Supertrend.pro

Indicators

Supertrend.pro combines different types of technical signals rather than treating every indicator as another Bullish-or-Bearish vote.

Supertrend shows direction. RSI shows momentum. Each measures something different, so they can add context to one another without pretending to be the same signal.

Supertrend

Direction

What it measures

Trend direction using price and volatility.

States

Bullish
Price is in an uptrend under the Supertrend calculation.
Bearish
Price is in a downtrend under the Supertrend calculation.

There is no Neutral state.

How Supertrend.pro calculates it

A trailing band is built from price and the Average True Range (ATR) — ATR period 10, multiplier 3, using Wilder smoothing — and computed from completed daily and weekly bars. A flip happens when price closes across the trailing Supertrend band.

Limitations

  • It is trend-following, so it reacts after a move has begun.
  • It can whipsaw in sideways or choppy markets.
  • A sharp reversal can happen before the indicator flips.
Why we use Supertrend

Relative Strength Index (RSI)

Momentum

What it measures

The strength of recent gains versus losses on a 0–100 scale.

States

Bullish
RSI above 55.
Neutral
RSI 45–55 inclusive.
Bearish
RSI below 45.

Secondary context

Overbought
RSI 70 or above.
Oversold
RSI 30 or below.

Overbought and Oversold describe how stretched momentum is. They are not automatic sell or buy signals — a reading can be Bullish and Overbought, or Bearish and Oversold, at the same time.

How Supertrend.pro calculates it

RSI-14 with Wilder smoothing, computed from completed bars. RSI is shown only once at least 50 bars of history are available, so it can still be pending on a listing whose Supertrend signal already appears.

Limitations

  • RSI can stay overbought or oversold for long stretches in a strong trend.
  • Momentum can conflict with trend direction.
  • One indicator should not be treated as a prediction.
